The NSW Police Service is considering installing a dental assistant program to protect the state’s police force

Posted August 16, 2018 07:22:00A review into the state of NSW’s dental health will see the state and the state government seek advice from the Federal Government about whether to consider installing a program that would allow trained dentists to take on tasks like cleaning up dental records and administering vaccinations.
The dental assistant programs currently offered by the NSW Police Force have not provided the health benefits and benefits standards required by the Victorian Government, as required by Federal law.
The NSW Police Department is examining the programs and is in the process of reviewing the programs.
“We want to ensure the quality of the program remains as high as possible,” NSW Police Minister Andrew Scipione said.
NSW Police Chief Graham Ashton said the programs were important to the success of the force.
He said they were used by people to help keep records up to date, and help prevent cases of coronavirus spreading through the community.
“[It’s] very important for us to have the program in place in the first place to ensure we are not going to lose that type of information,” he said.
